Zerica Whittingham, ARNP, CNM

Zerica Whittingham is licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and is a Certified Nurse Midwife.  She is a member of the American Collage of Nurse Midwives and former Chair for the Tampa Bay Chapter of American Collage of Nurse Midwives (ACNM).

Born in Jamaica, West Indies, Zerica moved to England where she finished her education and lived for 18 years.  She completed her midwifery training at Doncaster Maternity Hospital in England at York School of Nursing followed RN training. Zerica relocated to Florida in 1983, became an American Citizen, and attended Frontier School of Nurse Midwifery in Tampa, Florida.  She worked at Sun Coast Hospital from 1983-1991. Since 1991 Zerica has practiced midwifery with several physicians before joining a private practice in 1996 that became Contemporary Women's Care.  

Zerica and her husband Roy have three children and two grandchildren. She is proud to say that the medical legacy in her family is continuing on through her daughter Erica, who is a board certified pediatrician working in Pensacola, Florida.  Zerica serves on The School Board at Woodlawn Academy, Superintendent Minority Advisory Committee, S.A.C. at Safety Harbor Middle School, and several committees at Church. Her hobbies are reading, traveling, theater and other cultural activities. Zerica’s purpose is to serve women and families.
