Natasha Gooden, M.D.

Dr. Natasha K. Gooden is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Gooden earned her medical degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 2004.  She completed her residency at the University of South Florida in 2008 and became board eligible that same year.  She was the recipient of the John E. Turlich Award for Resident Teaching Excellence in 2007 and was voted the Administrative Chief Resident.

Dr. Gooden has been a long time resident of the Tampa Bay Area and enjoys hiking, going to outdoor concerts, jogging with her dog, and spending time with friends and family.

Over the past two years, I have become more involved in the community through my participation with various organizations. One organization in particular, the Caribbean Community Association, Inc. has garnered my attention.  The Caribbean Community Association, Inc. was established twenty years ago by the Caribbean diaspora in the Tampa Bay area. This assembly of people had a desire to care for and serve the Tampa Bay and Caribbean regions through various programs and missions.

One of their community serving missions includes sending a team of medical professionals to the parish of Trelawny in Jamaica. In one week the mission works to bring medication, supplies and medical care to the underserved people of that parish. In 2011, I was given the opportunity to participate in this mission trip. My experience in Jamaica opened my eyes to the health care deficits in a place that most Americans may only see as a vacation destination. The beautiful landscapes, foliage and beaches cannot hide the fact that health care needs of this country need to be supplemented.
