Cynthia McKinnie, ARNP

Cynthia McKinnie is a licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and is certified as a Women's Health Care Practitioner. Along with other care, Ms. McKinnie performs examinations, procedures, orders tests, and prescribes medication in a collaborative effort with the Women’s Care physicians.  Viewing the patient as a whole person, nurse practitioners focus on wellness through educating patients on health and illness.

Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rhode Island College. She joined the Air Force and worked 6 years as a Labor and Delivery nurse, prior to attending the Uniform School of Health Care Sciences in Texas for practitioner training. She achieved her Women's Health Care Practitioner certification through both the Air Force and NCC in 1986. She retired in 1999 with 20 years of service from the Air Force at MacDill AFB and joined the Women's Care Team in 2001. She earned her MSN from University of Phoenix in 2005.

Cindy precepts Nurse Practitioner students from University of Tampa. She is a member of National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH) and the Tampa Bay Council of Nurse Practitioners.

Cynthia has lovely twin daughters, who both earned their BSN's from Florida State University and served in the Navy Nurse Corps. She is active in her local church and her interests include reading, traveling, and crocheting.
