Listed below are over-the-counter/non-prescription medications and treatments that may be used to relieve discomforts experienced during your pregnancy. Please call your physician before taking any medications other than the ones listed below.

Benadryl

Chlor-Trimeton

Claritin or Claritin-D

 

Sudafed

Tavist or Tavist-D

Tylenol Sinus

Zyrtec

Cold Symptoms

Mucinex or Mucinex-DM

Benadryl

Chlor-Trimeton

Claritin or Claritin-D

Sudafed

 

Tavist or Tavist-D

Tylenol Cold

Tylenol, Regular or Extra Strength

Zyrtec

Increase fluids.

Call your physician with fever over 100.8.

 

Congestion/ Runny Nose

Actifed

Benadryl

Chlor-Trimeton

Claritin or Claritin-D

Robitussin

Sudafed

Tavist or Tavist-D

Tylenol Cold & Sinus

Vicks Vapor Rub

Ocean or Any Saline Nasal Spray

 

Use a humidifier.

Drink plenty of fluids.

Elevate your head when you sleep.

 

Cough

Cough Drops or Throat Lozenges

Mucinex or Mucinex-DM

Robitussin or Robitussin-DM

 

Fever

Tylenol, Regular or Extra Strength

Report any fever greater than 100.8 that does not respond to Tylenol.

 

Sore Throat

Cepacol Lozenges

Chloraseptic Spray or Lozenges

Salt Water Gargle
