Women's Care Florida Laboratory

We are a State (AHCA) and Federally (CLIA) approved clinical laboratory performing “high-complexity testing”.  We also have Accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), an internationally recognized organization that holds laboratories around the world to even higher standards.  A Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist with specialty expertise and fellowship training in Gynecological & Breast Pathology oversees the diagnosis of your tissue biopsy.

In routine circumstances outside of this laboratory, your biopsy would likely be diagnosed by a pathologist without this specialty expertise or fellowship training.  Most major cancer centers and many large hospital systems and Universities are either offering subspecialized diagnosis or are moving towards that goal in the near future.

The reports will be instantly available to your OB/GYN after diagnosis usually within 72 hours of your procedure with direct communication between your physician and our Pathologist especially on challenging or complicated cases.  Women’s Care Florida Laboratory is able to provide this unique specialty expertise and quick turnaround to our patients in the office setting which is exceedingly rare especially in the field of OB/GYN.

The WCF Lab also has a molecular division.  We perform STD testing (Gonorrhea/Chlamydia/Trichomonas) for our pregnant patients and for those patients that want/need to be screened outside of pregnancy.  Group B Streptococcus testing is also performed which is a vital component of a pregnant women’s care and protection of the neonate from developing life threatening complications at birth.  Testing for the most common organisms responsible for Vaginosis & Vaginitis is also offered.  Turnaround time for results is routinely 48 hours.

The Cytopathology Department was most recently established and cervical cancer screening which includes the Pap Smear and HPV testing are performed within the laboratory. Correlation with subsequent biopsies if necessary are routinely performed. This department is overseen by a Board-Certified Cytopathologist and only the most advanced and state of the art equipment is used to prepare these tests for analysis.

Your expert GYN pathology report as well as the results of your molecular testing are available through our patient portal.
